Bidders go all out to get Kanye West Nike collaboration Air Yeezy 2
By Meg Moore
Make way in those shoe closets. Kanye West’s hotly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy2 dropped Saturday, and only those with a deep appreciation — and deeper pockets — are set to wear them today.
Only two stores in Chicago had the rights to sell them via a silent auction Saturday.
Lavelle Sykes owns the shoe boutique Succezz, 1329 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago, with his partner Brooklyn Nets forward Bobby Simmons.
Their dedication to rare and buzz-worthy sneakers, in addition to your everyday kicks, helped make the store a must-shop for West’s newest design.
Sykes declined to mention how many pairs he had, but all sizes from 8 to 13 were on offer.
“I’ve got enough,” Sykes said.
